Renowned for his maritime paintings in both the UK and USA Anthony's work rarely comes onto the market as most of his paintings are held in private collections around the world. The paintings listed are exclusive to the Maritime Gallery and are not available through any other outlet.
Anthony's recent exhibitions include; The Texas Seaport Museum International Festival of Maritime Art, The Pearl Fincher Museum in Houston and in 2009 the prestigious Royal Society of Marine Artists' Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. |

Blackwall Point from Victoria Dock
Original pencil drawing of Blackwall Point from Victoria Dock, fine view of cargo boats, sailing barges and tugs on the River Thames. The picture is signed but unfortunately I cannot read the signature well enough to attribute it.
The picture has a brown stain and remnants of old tape around the border just encroaching on the signature. Otherwise in good condition. Size of image 280mm x 230mm.

Dock scene, possibly Rotherhithe
Super pencil drawing of an old riverside warehouse and barge. The picture came with others all from the Rotherhithe area so I am assuming this is from that part of South London as well. Some chalk highlights, the pictire has A.E.P 10.11.14 written on the inside of the barge which I take as the artist's initials and the date.
The picture is drawn on card and in very good condition. Size of drawn area 330mm x 220mm, including titles.

Yarmouth Docks 1920 by Douglas Ion Smart
Original pen and ink drawing by Douglas Ion Smart R.E. 1879-1970. Douglas Ion Smart was an etcher and watercolourist who studied under Sir Frank Short R.A, and exhibited at the Royal Academy over 70 times. The picture is laid on card and has a faint crease down the centre. Still an excellent picture, Size of drawing; 350mm x 240mm.
