De Groote Zee En Rivier-Vis-Markt C1670 Very early copper plate engraving by Isaak Commelin dating from around 1670. I know very little about this engraving other than it is the Dam with the fish market seen from the west.
The picture, which has later hand colouring, has a small repaired tear top right encroaching around 10mm onto the image. there is also some minor repaired tears to the bottom border but these will mount out. Generally the picture is in good condition for its age. Size of engraved area 320mm x 250mm.
