Renowned for his maritime paintings in both the UK and USA Anthony's work rarely comes onto the market as most of his paintings are held in private collections around the world. The paintings listed are exclusive to the Maritime Gallery and are not available through any other outlet. Anthony's recent exhibitions include; The Texas Seaport Museum International Festival of Maritime Art, The Pearl Fincher Museum in Houston and in 2009 the prestigious Royal Society of Marine Artists' Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
The USS Texas ' Coming home' Superb pencil signed artists proof lithograph by marine artist Anthony Blackman of the battleship USS Texas. Laid down in 1911, the USS Texas was the most powerful battleship in the world and saw action in two World Wars. She was donated to the State of Texas and is berthed at the San Jacinto Battleground National Park, Houston Texas. The painting depicts her homecoming after World War 2. The original painting is in Houston Texas in the collection of Max Teare. The picture is in excellent condition. Please note postage cost to be confirmed. Size of engraved area 840mm x 550mm. The Royal Northern Yacht Club by E Duncan Later copy of an aquatint by Edward Duncan from an original painting by W Clark. The original would have been around 1840, this copy probably mid 20th century. The plate is titled ' This plate is dedicated to His Grace The Duke of Portland (Commodore), The Vice Commodore and Members of the Royal Northern Yacht Club'. . The picture is hand coloured and apart from a slight discolouring to the border is in good condition. The picture is much brighter than the screen image. Size of engraved area 590m x 400mm.
